J-Crew..... Not the Norm....

Tonight was supposed to be our monthly J-Crew night, but it turned out to not be the norm. Due to sicknesses, lots of them, the plan for the night seemed to change up till the minute we left the house. Since Mike was home in bed with the Flu, Lisa joined me for dinner and back to The McChesney's for a little while.

The original plan was to have dinner at Casa Blanca and then go to mid-night Bingo at the Casino. The Tannenbaums have been wanting us to try this for a long time. I guess the Bingo host is a blast and the night is just fun and crazy. Well, with Mike home sick I decided to join the "small group" for dinner, kick it at the McChesney's for a bit and then call it a night. So, that's what we did.

Have you been to Casa Blanca in Chandler? I drive by it everyday on the way to work and have always heard that it was good. So, I was excited to try it. But, it left a lot to be desired..... About the only good thing was the Chips, Salsa and Bean dip that they give you. The service stunk, the food for most of us was cold and the food overall was just mediocre. Well, at least I have tried it and know I won't be going back.

Once dinner was over, I think we were all ready for a few more shots, (well not me) but a few were.... We had an hour or so to kill before the rest of the group went to Bingo, so we hung out and drinked and laughed SO hard.

From what I heard it was a really fun night. I'm looking forward to getting a raincheck and trying it out in he future with everyone....

Winter Break and Sickness.....

Wow! I was looking forward to J & J going back to school tomorrow, but it looks like only one half of that equation will be there. The Callison's have had a REALLY tough Winter Break filled with sickness and more more sickness. Just when I think we have turned the corner another man (or gal) is down. I'm DONE.... We have had Strep twice (both J & J had it), the Stomach flu (me and the boys), the actual Flu (Mike.... where Tamiflu was needed) and now it seems an Upper Respiratory thing has hit Jayden and myself..... Ugh.....

So, when I say I'm done I know it could be a lot worse and I am so blessed, but I feel like I can't keep anyone well these days. My good friend Sandi even took me to Sprouts last week and got me some Homeopathic goods to start building us up. I'm hoping all the goods just haven't kicked in yet, right???

I'm starting another crazy work week with my boss out of town for three days and I have to be in tip-top shape. I might find myself at the doctors tomorrow to make sure I don't need any antibiotics at this point. Wish me luck... Please.....

NYE 2012....

We had our 5th Annual NYE party and it was a blast! Our group was a little smaller this year and we missed some special people but fun was had by all. I decided to make a pizza bar for the kiddos and let them make their own pizzas and they loved it... They were a little inpatient that my oven was not cooking the pizzas fast enough but they did enjoy them when they finally came out of the oven.

We had great appetizers and then Mike got the Crab Boil ready to throw down on the table. After everyone was good and full it was time to get some energy out of the kids. So, we headed out back and did some sparklers. By that time the kids were ready to put PJ's on and they got the DS's out and finally mellowed out a bit. I put my OCD to the shelf for the night and let the kids have fun and I worried about all the mess the next day. I love that everyone had a great time and that we get to ring in the New Year with great friends and family.

J & J slept in till 9AM on New Years Day and then the cleaning began. Oh, and what a clean up it was. It is always a doosey since I clean up Christmas at the same time. There is something about a perfectly clean and organized house that I absolutely love. At 6pm I finally told Mike we were going out for dinner as I was done looking at the house and I was NOT doing another dish in my kitchen.

Until next year!!!!!!

Christmas 2012.....

Another Christmas season came and went. We started out Christmas break with Strep (both J & J) and then a second round of Strep for Jayden and ended Christmas Eve/Day with the flu. So, Christmas Eve was a bust and I had to cancel our dinner plans since I was in bed with the flu. Luckily we were all feeling better to see what Santa had brought and it was actually a very relaxing Christmas Day and we spent the entire day in our PJ's.

Jayden got a bike from Santa and Jordy got the Leapster Pad and they were both thrilled. Grandma and Grandpa sent a huge box of presents and both J & J were excited with what they sent from San Diego.

Since I took my promotion in June I have been very busy with work, but it was so nice to slow down the last few weeks and enjoy some much needed family time. I am SO blessed to have a husband that steps up to the plate to help with J & J, thankful to have two terrific boys that are sweet and smart, thankful to have a sister that has moved in with us to help out, a Mom that taught me how to be a wonderful wife and mother, and a fabulous group of friends that keep me smiling......

Let's Celebrate..... Lisa's Birthday!

We had such a fun night celebrating Lisa's birthday at Sushi San. Lisa invited a great mix of family and friends and the we all had fun. Lisa requested that Shanti make her a cake and it turned out perfectly, and Jayden was close by to sing Happy Birthday to his Tee-Tee. After dinner we went over to a dive bar and had a few drinks and did a little Karaoke.

Happy Birthday Sissy! We LOVE you....
